“Spieleentwicklung für mobile Geräte” (engl.: Mobile Game Development) is a lecture I am giving at the Stuttgart Media University. It is part of the mobile media degree since I have created it in 2011.
The lecture consists of 12 sessions and 8 exercises in which I give students an insight into game development with focus on the technical background and characteristics of mobile devices. The sessions include an introduction to OpenGL ES, touch input and sensor data handling, sound playback, persisting data, game design and design patterns helpful for creating a game (managing game objects, game states). During the exercises, students develop a little framework for creating mobile games. They can use this framework as a foundation for their exam performance, which is to create a prototype of a mobile game.
